Last week, KHK had the exciting opportunity to showcase our entry in a retro-themed engineering design challenge for this year’s Engineering EXPO - University of Wisconsin! To align with the theme, our EXPO project team created a 2D remake of Clash Royale on a 90’s style arcade machine, replacing the characters with members of KHK and the towers with iconic UW-Madison buildings such as Van Vleck and EHall.
KHK participates in EXPO every year, and with every new project, we try our hardest to outdo ourselves. This year was no exception. Our EXPO team made every aspect of the arcade game from scratch! Everything from coding, graphics, hardware, and arcade cabinet were built from beginning to end by members of our team. Huge thank you to Matthew Ye, Rachith Anasuri, Michael Cortese, Katarina Bauer, Kevin Park, Alexandra Conover, and James DeSilver for all your hard work!
This highly intensive project took months of work from our team, but all that work paid off! We won 2nd place in the competition, and our project was a hit among students during the Schools Day exhibition. We’re so happy to have been able to share our hard work and our love for engineering with the next generation of engineers!
